Four Courners Storytelling Festival

I am so glad I volunteered for this event.  I had so much fun.  I was in the La Plata tent, that the storyteller, Tim Tingle was in.  I have some Choctaw Indian in me and I am on their roll, so to hear his stories of Choctaw folklores and myths was great.  I introduced myself to him and talked with him for about five minutes.  He told me that his book Crossing Bok Chitto has received several awards, this was one of the books he recited to the audience.  He kept the audience very interested in his story, they laughed when it was funny and jumped when it was scary.
An interesting bit of information, he said was free advice, the most important thing to a story is the sensory words.  Smell is the most crucial to the story.
I bought two of his books that I will bring and share with the class on Monday.

This young lady was one of the youth storytellers, I think she was the same one that Frances took a picture with.  I was so impressed she told that story like no other, her voice was great and her sound effects were wonderful.  I really liked her story because the main character's name was Amber!!!  Her name is Emilee Herman.

As an added bonus, I was introduced to Senator Pete V. Domenici.  NM Rublican Senator
