The main
thing I learned in this class was using manipulatives as a resource to help the children understand why math works. It is
very important for students to connect what they are learning in school to what they deal with and see in everyday life.
I taught the
class three lessons and with all three lessons I used a hands on approach. I also used literature to incorporate reading
into math. I choose to use mini dry erase boards to get out of the rut of using worksheets.
